2. Exclusive Design Created by Pastry Leidy:
Non-refundable deposit: To secure a custom design created by us, a non-refundable deposit of $90 is required.
Design process: After receiving your deposit, we will create a rough sketch of your cake and share it with you along with the total price for your approval.

Can I request a custom cake flavor?

Seasonal Mini Cake Samplers:  Throughout the year, we offer a selection of seasonal mini cake samplers. These samplers typically feature three different flavors, allowing you to get a taste of our creativity and baking expertise.

Customizable Mini Cakes:  If you have specific flavor preferences, feel free to contact us!  We can create personalized mini cakes with flavors of your choice, subject to availability.  This allows you to explore potential wedding cake options or simply enjoy a unique treat.

How far in advance do I need to place my order?

The ideal lead time for your cake order depends on the complexity of the design:
Simple Cakes (Minimal Decorations):  For cakes with minimal decorations, we can sometimes accommodate orders with 24 hour notice. However, these slots are limited, so we recommend placing your order as soon  as possible to ensure availability.
Standard Cakes (Moderate Decorations):  For cakes with standard decorations, we recommend placing your order at least 3 days in advance. This allows us ample time to bake, decorate, and ensure your cake is perfect for your event.
Wedding Cakes (Intricate Designs):  For wedding cakes featuring elaborate designs or decorations, we require a minimum of 7 days notice. This allows for detailed planning, procurement of any specialty ingredients, and the creation of truly stunning centerpieces for your special day.

How far in advance can I book?

We typically schedule cake orders up to one month in advance. This allows us to manage our workload effectively and ensure we can dedicate the necessary time to every creation.

Question 10

How much should I pay to place my order?

Accepted Answer

The amount required upfront depends on the type of cake and your booking timeframe:
Standard Cakes (24 hours - 3 days notice):   For cakes ordered within 24 hours to 3 days of pick-up, full payment is required to secure your order.
Wedding Cakes (3+ months notice):   To reserve your wedding cake date more than 3 months in advance, a 50% deposit is required. The remaining 50% balance is due 1 month before your wedding. 
Wedding Cakes (1 month notice or less):  If you're booking your wedding cake within one month of the event, full payment is required to confirm your order.

Can I modify my order after it is placed?

We understand that plans may change, and we'll do our best to accommodate your requests whenever possible. Here's a breakdown of our modification policy:

Standard Cakes (24 hours - 3 days notice):  For cakes with a short lead time (24 hours to 3 days), modifications might be possible only if we haven't begun working on your order yet.  Please contact us as soon as possible to discuss any changes you'd like to make.

Wedding Cakes:  For wedding cakes, some modifications can be accommodated up to one month before your event.  This allows us enough time to adjust ingredients, designs, or other details.  After one month, modifications become more challenging due to the intricate planning involved.  However, we encourage you to contact us even after this timeframe, and we'll see if we can still accommodate your request.

Do you offer delivery for cakes?

Wedding Cakes: Due to the size and intricacy of wedding cakes, we can offer delivery for these orders for an additional cost. Request the service when you place your order.

Standard Cakes: We only offer pick-up at our home-studio in Grand Rapids, MI located in the Creston Heights area.
  For your convenience, pick-up can be scheduled at the time you confirm your order.  When you arrive for pick-up, please call us upon arrival for curbside handoff.
